INSPIRATION
The Relax chair was designed in 1960 by designer and craftsman Olav S. Hødnebø, second generation Hødnebø.
Scandinavian design emerged in th 1950s in the three Scandinavian countries, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, as well as Finland. It is a design movement characterized by simplistic designs; minimalism and functionality. This way of design was the inspiration for the Relax chair.
In 2004 the chair was re-launched in its original form for the 100th Anniversary of Hødnebø. Due to its rustic yet understated design and the returning trend of simplicity and functionality (around the globe), it is once again a standout and permanent fixture in the Hødnebø furniture line.
